molly_oMovie seen: The Namesake.
The trailer is a bit of bait-and-switch -- this was not the movie I was expecting -- but it's still a *good* movie, just different: strictly chronological, where I expected flashbacks, and from multiple points of view, where I expected one character's story. Kal Penn more than held up his end of this serious role (his first, AFAIK), and Tabu was particularly good. (Really, they were all very fine, particularly considering the challenges of portraying a character over a 25-year period.)
Also, tonight's episode of The Dresden Files happens to be based on the novel I read last week. I'm not sure it adds anything to the viewing experience to constantly be comparing versions and noting how they adapted the novel to TV. (However, this is also the pilot, aired out of order, and it's kinda fun to see what they kept and what they ditched in subsequent eps.)
