molly_oTito Ortiz is an ultimate fighter -- once upon a time he held the UFC's light-heavyweight belt. Recently he started dating Jenna Jameson, an adult film actress. I've been impressed with the dedication to coaching Tito displayed on the third season of The Ultimate Fighter, but he does have a rep for being an asshole. Jenna is reputed to be a pretty sharp businesswoman.
The Marine Corps invited Tito to speak at a function and attend a dinner on base, but they rescinded the invitation after learning he intended to bring Jenna as his date. These are Marines! Do you seriously expect me to believe they've never watched a pr0n flick? And if they have, they have no business looking down on a performer in a pr0n flick (unless, of course, s/he turned in a poor performance. But from all I've heard, that's not Jenna's situtation).
I have been pretty disgusted with the reaction among MMA fans to the news that Tito & Jenna are dating. All these guys -- who I'm absolutely positive would not hesitate to watch Jenna perform on film -- are totally revolted that someone would actually *date* her. (Though one of RM's coworkers won my affection by responding to the "why would anyone date *her*?" outrage with, "The question is why would *she* date *Tito*?")
(sigh) I don't know why I'm outraged by a positively *ancient* double standard -- it's not like it's news that people look down on sex workers.
