I'm reading a TON of adoption-related blogs these days -- mostly adoptive parents and wanna-be adoptive parents, but also some first moms and some adoptees (especially transracially and transnationally adopted people). Many of them refer to each other's posts, so there's a whole community and conversation happening. However (with a couple exceptions), none of these folks are on LJ, so I feel like it's all going on in a parallel blogverse.

And sometimes I read something that provokes a response, but I don't want to plaster my thoughts all over the blog of someone I don't know. However, any post in my own LJ is going to seem like it's coming out of left field, because readers that I know of aren't making the rounds of adoption blogs on a daily basis.

And I really don’t want this LJ to turn into all adoption, all the time, but at the same time I know some of you are interested (or at least, give a good impression of being interested) in how that process is going.

I thought about creating an adoption filter, but that would exclude several people who I know read this who aren't on LJ. I've finally decided to create an entirely new LJ, which will include updates on RM's and my progress through the process, but more likely will have me rambling about things like what to call my kid’s first mom or why "God meant us to be family" doesn’t resonate with me.

So: [livejournal.com profile] morehappymeals. Forewarned is forearmed: It has an annoying pink kitten theme, just because I felt like it at the time.
