It's the first time either of us has had any kind of operation or surgery since we've been together (well, Mark had LASIK, but that's an outpatient procedure with a local, so it doesn't count). Who knew how freaky it is to have your partner in surgery? Just having him not at home was hard -- I couldn't sleep, I let the dishes pile up in the sink and neglected to take out the garbage. It was kinda sad, really. And this was an utterly routine procedure -- can you imagine what a basket case I'd be if it were something more serious?
But now he's in his recliner, drinking a coke and watching Full Metal Alchemist and chafing a bit at my hovering, and all is right with the world.
