House last night was ... confusing. I am surprised that Vogler was as blunt as he was; I expected something more drawn out, with House foiling Vogler's scheme and Vogler having to come up with another way to force his will on House. They're bringing this whole conflict to a head faster than I thought. I can't tell where they're going to go with it. I mean, House can't leave, it's his name on the show, but the way they've set it up it seems like Vogler holds all the cards.
Also I am perturbed by Chase's behavior -- not so much by his behavior per se as by what it could indicate about the direction of the show. One of the things I most appreciate about "House" is the shades of grey in the characters -- House is brilliant and funny but an asshole, Foreman, Cameron, Cuddy, etc. have their own pluses and minuses. Even Wilson -- pretty, friendly Wilson -- is on his third marriage, which is maybe a red flag. But first they introduced Vogler, who's almost a cartoon villain, and now Chase appears to be becoming unambiguously Bad. This makes me nervous.
Also, as others have observed, Cameron's behavior was thoroughly unprofessional.
I have no idea what's going on with all the big mysteries, but I *loved* Sawyer's B-plot. Jack actually displayed a sense of humor, Sayid displayed some Swiss Family Robinson ingenuity -- and now we get to see Sawyer in glasses!
I predicted that Locke's mother's appearance was part of a scam to get his kidney, but even knowing ahead of time didn't lessen how awful I felt when it turned out to be true. What a terrible, terrible thing to do to someone.
But whee! They had a trebuchet! I have A Thing for trebuchets.
In Real Life, CGU had LASIK this morning. He seems to be fine, but he's going a little bonkers right now because he's not supposed to watch much TV or read at all for 24 hours. And he just got a new book in the mail and he can't do anything with it, poor baby.
