fingers in my ears, la la la, what disaster?

We saw Red Eye last night, and OMG, I *loved* it! It's the best chicks-kick-ass movie I've seen in I don't know how long. It reminded me a bit of Collateral, in that it almost felt like two movies: a quiet, suspenseful movie at the beginning, with an action movie tacked on at the end. But somehow that felt a bit forced in Collateral, while in Red Eye the action at the end seemed like a natural climax to the tension built up at the beginning. The whole first half really hinges on Cillian Murphy and Rachel MacAdams. If you'd had less capable actors in their roles, it wouldn't have worked at *all*, but they're good, and it does. And the end is just SO GREAT.
