oh, holy cow.

I am an editor. I supervise five other editors, each of whom has either 10 years experience in the profession OR at least one year plus a journalism degree. Apparently I am the only one of the six of us who knows the difference between *eminent* and *imminent* (as in, "with Social Security reform eminent imminent ...").

If you're reading this, and you don't know the difference, please don't feel bad, I really, truly am not judging you -- UNLESS YOU'RE AN EDITOR!! In which case, really, THIS IS THE KIND OF THING YOU SHOULD KNOW!!!

(sigh) If I had a Marvin icon to express despair, I would be using it now.
