I am so in love with "Deadwood." I wish there were a slashable pairing. All of the actors are so *damn* good -- this last episode had me loving Brad Dourif, in particular, and Powers Boothe delivered a couple lines *brilliantly*. And that actor whose name escapes me -- the one who played the engineer, Sebastian something, in Blade Runner, and also played Larry (or was it Darryl?) on Newhart? -- he had a line so good I had to write it down: He's furiously scrubbing a bloodstain off the floor and muttering about how poorly rewarded is his loyalty to the local crime boss, who continues to
"terrify him every day until the idea of bowel regularity is a forlorn fuckin' hope."
Who writes this stuff? It's *awesome*! The way Al Swearingen (the aforementioned crime boss) throws around the word c**ks**ker, a casual viewer could think the writers are using profanity as a gimmick. And maybe they are, but it's not to distract you from poor writing, because the writing is just brilliant. Plus I heart Timothy Olyphant.
OK, back to the front lines of wedding prep.
