Jonesin' for something from the vending machine, I found only a $10 bill in my wallet. A thorough search of every pocket and desk drawer revealed 45 cents -- short by 20 cents! So I wandered from coworker to coworker scrounging a nickel here and a dime there until I had enough to buy Reese's Cups. The things we do for chocolate.
In other news, www.subservientchicken.com is very disturbing to me. And it's sponsored by *Burger King*!
So, tomorrow CGU & I are both taking the day off to run wedding-related errands, including picking up the marriage license. DC is one of the few jurisdictions that still requires a blood test for syphilis before granting a marriage license. The results are printed on an official blue card that states something to the effect of, "this person has been tested and determined to be free of syphilis in any communicable stage."
Naturally, I wondered if I had syphilis in some *other* stage, until I found the extra section of the card that explains the wording is just to conform to DC law, and in fact I have no syphilis at all. (Go me!)
(I can't believe the wedding is less than three weeks away ... !)
