molly_oI picked up a copy of Best American Short Stories 2007 a while back. I love short story collections --they're a great way to get a taste of a bunch of authors without a big commitment -- and the BASS collections are interesting and readable and not unbearably pretentious. And the 2007 edition was edited by Stephen King, which seemed promising.
Last night I decided to read a story before bed. It was about a retired couple who commit suicide.
It was not a good bedtime story.
