California trip, Eurotrip

molly_oEscapade was way fun! This year (my third) I was more comfortable with the whole con experience. The roommates (![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
lanchid, z_rayne, smaragdgrun, justacat, minotaurs) were all cool. Friday I was panel girl, and all of'em were good (as I've come to expect); Saturday I managed to go to no panels at all, but still had a really fun, fannish day. Sunday was a long slow departure, which was sad, but at Justacat's suggestion we went to a really great restaurant in Santa Monica.
Last night, CGU and I went to see Eurotrip (he'd already seen if over the weekend and *really* wanted to see it again with me. I have to say, it was better than I expected. Sure, there were a lot of gratuitous shots of nubile teenage T&A, but there was also full frontal male nudity. With the exception of the gratuitous slams at Bratislava (which I have visited, and which is *lovely*), for the most part it mocked Americans as much as Europeans. It also had a couple scenes so funny I had a hard time breathing; a reference to "the roof is on fire" (CGU's and my theme song); and a surprise cameo by Matt Damon. Oh, and kick-ass soundtrack..
