problem resolved (we hope)
Feb. 22nd, 2007 08:03 pmFirst thing this morning I called the number of the local branch of my lender and got the manager's cell phone. He was on his way into the office and explained that branch offices in this area can't accept payments and suggested I call customer service. I (politely) freaked out and said customer service had sent me to *him*.
So this really, really nice branch manager pulls over so he can get my name and account number and call his office and have someone help me. And 15 minutes later I get a call from his assistant, and she says they're preparing a DHL envelope, and if I bring a check to the branch, they'll ship it overnight to the correct address, and oh by the way under the circumstances she's convinced them to cancel the late fee.
I am even more annoyed at the bitchy woman from collections, but my faith in my human nature has been restored.
