I was on the Metro last night and couldn't help but overhear a couple of people arguing about evolution. She was all, "fossil record," and he was all "but how do they know they didn't find some unusually small skeletons or something," and she didn't have a persuasive argument to that. I had to move before I busted into their conversation.

(Elephants? So obviously descended from mammoths. Likewise, house cats and big cats and their sabre-toothed forebears. So, you know, it's pretty clear that evolution *happens*. And if humans evolved from anything, it's gonna be the primates, you can figure that out with a cursory glance at the animal kingdom. Seriously, all I need to know about evolution I learned watching Ice Age 2. Yes, I know it's more complicated; this is the Metro version.)

(Which is not to say I don't believe in a higher power, I just think She has a subtler touch than is described in Genesis. She set in motion an evolving universe, how cool is that?)
