I just watched the last 30 minutes of "8 Mile" on TV. That's a film that really suffers from the constraints of television (even cable television) -- with all the profanity bleeped out, the raps are completely eviscerated. The weirdest part is when Eminem and Brittany Murphy give each other the finger -- the offending digits have been digitally erased.

Also, seeing the Prestige last night and Doctor Who tonight made me really appreciate British accents -- not the lofty, Alistair Cooke ones, but the working-class ones, where the "th" becomes"ff" ("Nuffing wrong wiff a van," said Mickey).
