[livejournal.com profile] cmshaw found the link to the bias test I referred to in my last post -- it's at implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/. I took a couple of the tests and discovered I have a slight bias against old people (which I'm not proud of but I kinda knew that already) and a STRONG bias FOR GEORGE BUSH versus John Kerry!!, which freaked the FUCK out of me.

Except, on reflection, not so much, because I really don't vote for *people*, I vote for issues, so I never even thought about who I *like* more, that didn't even come into it. I voted for Kerry because the Democratic agenda matches my views about how things should be done about 80 zillion times more closely than the Republican agenda does. If I were at a dinner party with George and Laura, I might have a perfectly lovely time, but I'd still disagree with him about U.S. policy.
